You never know what the days will bring...

There is an apple tree in the pasture threat the goats love to wait under for apples to "fall from the sky". It has a fence around it to keep the little rascals from eating the bark, which is definitely a favorite past time for them! I even had to electrify it because they just kept breaking into it. Well, the solar charger decided to quit working. After milking and putting them out to pasture, I took the milk in to put it in the fridge, as I always do. Then I go back out and to fill the water buckets. In that very short amount of time, a bunch of them got into the fence and did a number on the trunk! They are just munching away. They were so casual it took a few seconds before it actually hit my brain that they were not supposed to be there! I go running into the pasture and have get into the fence with them. I proceeded to chase them around the tree for at least 15 minutes before I managed to get them all out. I'm sure if anyone was watching they got a pretty good laugh out of it! After climbing back out myself, I fixed the fence as best I could till I could get some t-posts to fix this situation. This is now my number 1 priority. Meanwhile, the water bucket is overflowing at this point due to this unfortunate change of plans. I started my way to the gate so I could shut the water off, enough water had already been wasted. About 2steps from the gate I look back at the tree and 3 goats are back in! Running back, I went through whole process again of chasing them around the tree. By this point, I'm hot and out of breath, and a little ticked to say the least. Water. I still have to shut the water off, crap.. I was no more than 5 steps and glancing back one is already trying to go back in! I run back yelling get out of there forgetting that they are fainting goats, and faint when scared, she faints halfway over the fence. I had to stop and laugh, helped her off the fence and watched her run to join the herd, they were all just standing there watching this all unfold. Poor Peanut! However, she never tried again!! Oh yeah, the water! Water off, now I have to pull the t-posts out because they were supposed to be for the run, change of plans. And of course, I have to keep chasing them away while I'm trying to get them out. Finally, success!!! Problem solved.

Friends came over to see the new chicks. While we were talking, I put my hands in my pockets. In one pocket, I felt something unusual, and a few of them. I start emptying my pocket and find baby goat poop pellets. Seriously??? I have poop in my pocket, definitely a first for me! We all got a good laugh as I continue to pull these little pellets out. Later, as I move the baby boys to another barn to wean, I picked one up to carry him into the barn and he peed all over me!!! Seriously??? Oh Magnum, poor boy, I know you're scared. There is always something happening on the farm!
